This creamy, festive dip comes together in just five minutes with four simple ingredients. Perfect for holiday gatherings, it tastes like the inside of a Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake and disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff (one standard jar)
  • 16 oz vanilla or cream cheese frosting (one standard tub)
  • 10 Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (8 for crushing, 2 for decoration)
  • Green gel food coloring (optional)
  • Rainbow sprinkles or holiday nonpareils (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take your cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 minutes before you start. If you forgot, unwrap it, place it on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave for 10-15 seconds. It should be soft to the touch but not warm.
  2. Crush the Christmas Tree Cakes: Open the package and set aside two whole cakes for decoration. Place the remaining eight cakes in a Ziploc bag, seal it, and crush them with your hands or a rolling pin. You want a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks—not powder.
  3. Beat the cream cheese: In your large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 1 minute until it’s smooth and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with your spatula.
  4. Add the marshmallow fluff: Spoon the entire jar of marshmallow fluff into the bowl with the cream cheese. Beat on low speed for about 30 seconds, then increase to medium for another 30 seconds. The mixture should be light and airy. Don’t overmix.
  5. Mix in the frosting: Add the entire tub of frosting to the bowl. Beat on low speed until just combined, then scrape the bowl and beat on medium for another 30 seconds. The mixture should be smooth, creamy, and a pale off-white color.
  6. Add green food coloring: If you’re using food coloring, add 3-4 drops of green gel and beat on low until the color is evenly distributed. Add more drops one at a time until you reach your desired shade.
  7. Fold in the crushed cakes: Add about three-quarters of your crushed Christmas Tree Cakes to the bowl. Fold them in gently with your spatula until they’re evenly distributed. Reserve the remaining crumbs for topping.
  8. Transfer to serving bowl: Spoon the dip into your serving bowl and spread it into an even layer. Use the back of your spatula to create a few swirls on top.
  9. Decorate: Sprinkle the reserved crushed cakes over the top. Add a generous layer of rainbow sprinkles. Chop the two reserved Christmas Tree Cakes into quarters and arrange them on top or around the edges of the bowl.
  10. Chill (optional but recommended): For the best texture, refrigerate the dip for 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly. If you’re in a rush, serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, let cream cheese soften at room temperature for 30 minutes. Do not overmix after adding marshmallow fluff. The dip can be made up to 24 hours in advance; add sprinkles and decorative cake pieces just before serving. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
