These adorable mummy pigs in a blanket are the perfect spooky snack for Halloween parties or a cozy night in. Made with just three main ingredients, they’re quick, easy, and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (all-beef recommended)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • 1 small package edible candy eyes (e.g., Wilton brand)
  • 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Ketchup or mustard for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent roll dough. Carefully peel the dough off in one large rectangle. Pinch the perforated seams together to create one solid sheet.
  3. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough rectangle lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide (aim for 8-10 strips).
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a dough strip around it diagonally, overlapping slightly. Leave a small gap at the top for the ‘face.’ Repeat with all hot dogs.
  5. Arrange the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  6. Brush the egg wash over each mummy using a pastry brush.
  7. While the egg wash is still wet, press two candy eyes into the gap at the top of each hot dog. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning if using.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a serving platter. Serve warm with ketchup or mustard for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use thin dough strips and leave a clear gap for the eyes. If dough strips break, just press them back together on the hot dog. For a spicier version, spread sriracha on the hot dog before wrapping. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
