These mummy hot dogs are a fun, quick, and easy Halloween snack made with just hot dogs and crescent roll dough. They’re perfect for parties, movie nights, or any spooky celebration, and they’re guaranteed to make everyone smile.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Mustard (for eyes)
  • Ketchup (optional, for bloodshot eyes or dipping)
  • Ranch dressing (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough. If using perforated triangles, press the seams together to form a solid rectangle. Place on a cutting board.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough lengthwise into strips about 1/2 inch wide. You should get about 8 to 10 strips per sheet.
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it, leaving a small gap near the top for the ‘face.’ Overlap the dough slightly as you go. Press the end of the dough gently to seal. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each one.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and flaky. Check after 10 minutes to avoid burning.
  7. Let them cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet.
  8. Dip a toothpick into mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed hot dog near the top. Optionally, add tiny ketchup dots next to the mustard for a bloodshot effect.
  9. Serve immediately with ketchup, mustard, or ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

Handle the dough gently to avoid tearing; if it tears, just press it back together. Leave about an inch of hot dog exposed at the top for the face. Watch the oven closely after 10 minutes to prevent burning. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free hot dogs and crescent roll dough. For a healthier option, use turkey hot dogs and reduced-fat crescent rolls.
