This one-pan honey garlic salmon with asparagus is a quick and impressive dinner party dish that comes together in under 30 minutes. The sweet and savory glaze caramelizes beautifully on the salmon while the asparagus roasts to tender perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 lb)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the upper third of the oven. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  3. Rinse the asparagus and snap off the woody ends. Pat dry with a kitchen towel. Arrange on one side of the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss gently to coat.
  4. Pat each salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Place on the other side of the baking sheet, skin-side down, leaving space between fillets. Season tops lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Spoon about half of the honey garlic glaze over the salmon fillets, spreading evenly. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the spoon over the asparagus.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature of 125°F to 130°F) and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
  7. Remove from the oven and brush or spoon the reserved glaze over the salmon fillets while still hot.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use fresh garlic and pat salmon dry before glazing. If asparagus is thin, add it halfway through cooking. Let salmon rest 2-3 minutes after baking. Double the glaze if scaling up the recipe.
