A tart, refreshing, and easy 5-minute mocktail made with cranberry sauce, lime juice, and ginger beer. Perfect for busy weeknights when you want something special without the hassle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons cranberry sauce (jellied or whole berry)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • 6 ounces ginger beer (such as Fever-Tree or Q Mixers)
  • Ice cubes (a generous handful, large cubes preferred)
  • Lime wedge for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish (optional)
  • Mint sprig for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Muddle the cranberry sauce and lime juice: Add 2 tablespoons of cranberry sauce and 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice to your glass. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to mash them together until well combined and slightly frothy, about 20 seconds.
  2. Fill the glass with ice: Add a generous handful of ice cubes. Large cubes are ideal as they melt slower.
  3. Pour in the ginger beer: Slowly pour 6 ounces of ginger beer over the ice to prevent frothy overflow.
  4. Stir gently: Give the drink a gentle stir with a straw or long spoon for 5-10 seconds to incorporate the cranberry mixture without losing too much fizz.
  5. Garnish and serve: Add a lime wedge to the rim, drop in a few fresh cranberries if desired, and top with a mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use a high-quality ginger beer with a strong ginger kick for best results. Jellied cranberry sauce gives a smoother finish. This drink is best enjoyed within 10 minutes of making it. For a make-ahead shortcut, prep the cranberry-lime mixture and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
